I've commonly only found kits for crochet or knit that are either beginner kits (simple patterns) or afghans.

But you could use one of the patterns from this site then purchase the yarn and a pair of needles and create your own "kit" if this is for a gift...

My suggestion would be to go to a local yarn shop and have them put a kit together for you to include needles, accessories, yarn, and pattern. They can be great help. If you do not have access to a local yarn shop, there are many wonderful online yarn shops, and they are great help, too. If you are wanting to order online, I might suggest Knit Picks (www.knitpicks.com) as an economical option. They are great and can help you get just what you need.

Well, I offered to knit you a hat and you told me no. So I figured a sweater was out of the question.
