The way you wrote talent 'company' has me a bit nervous too. What company? My main advice would be to check them out thoroughly before you go because you may not want to go at all. Go to ripoffreport.com and type in their name and see if anything comes up. Also, how did you find out about this company? Did they approach you in a mall or other public place? Did you see an add on tv, in the paper, or hear something on the radio? If you did, they are probably a scam. If they've already asked for money, it's definitely a scam. If they've told you there's no fee to audition, that part is true. The money comes in after they build you up. You audition and they tell you how great you are, but all you need are their fabulous classes and it will only cost you $3000! Please don't fall for it. No matter what they tell you about being selective, they will in fact offer the sam thing to every other person there no matter how terrible they were.

A legit talent agency does not take a fee up font. They get 10% of your pay after you get a job. They are also not allowed to sell you classes or tell you where to go for classes. They are also not allowed to refer you to any specific photographer.

Post another question if you need help finding legit classes, talen agents, or what.

good luck!

Oh, well a very good piece of advice, although it may seem obvious, is to HAVE YOUR LINES DOWN perfectly. Be able to say the audition monologue backwards! You don't know how many auditions I've seen bomb because of loose lines. Once you have them down perfectly, make sure you know the exact intent of each line. Think about each line very thoroughly, and make sure to use LOTS of vocal variety... use "all 64 crayons" in your box of vocal colors, as my acting coach would say... some of these 'colors' may be (but definetly aren't limited to):
tone
annunciation
accent
breathing
pauses
projection
face (ex. smiling effects the way you sound tremendously)
pitch
duration
pace
inflection

Like I said, those are just a few of them... but use them all.
Also, make sure to take advantage of all of the stage! If you have a 15x20 box available for you to move in, use the whole thing... don't just pace side to side, come close to the audience to bring them in, build up what you are saying, SAY IT (that's the climax), and as a good finish, during a pause, cheat upstage by "thinking" or the like, and repeat the whole process.
I'm sure it would help some if I knew your audition piece, but that is the most general advice that people should utilize during an auditon.

GOOD LUCK my friend!

DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY in any way, shape or form. A true agent will not charge you. Instead, a real agent sends you to auditions, and if you win roles, they take a percentage of what you make as a result of the role.

Any agent asking for money is suspicious, and is mostly likely a scam.

Feel free to audition for an agent (even a real agent may want to see your skills and range), but get wooried the minute they ask for money.

Listen to Marianne. Talent agents do not recruit by advertising or in the mall. If this company is Casabancas, or Powers, or Barbazon, or a website casting agency, they are a SCAM. You don't have to worry about your audition with such companies, they will tell you that you are great and only need their lessons, or photography or representation that they will ask you money for. If they ask for money, say "NO THANK YOU>" and hurry to the nearsest exit. Be sure to take mom along with you, she may be able to tell if there is something fishey/

Well, a couple weeks ago i had an audition for dancing and i didn't get in. I was sad, but I'm fine. I'm sure you'll do better than what I did because, I haven't danced all summer. You'll be great. Just don't let your nerves get you down. Just keep on telling yourself that you'll do great and you will! Keep practicing, and I hope you get in.

Nerves are good, take that negative energy and turn it into positive energy. The talent company knows you will be nervous. Before starting, take a deep breath to compose yourself and start when you're ready. That's really about it. Good luck!
