i know i cant always trust the media, but from what i see/hear. ONE white guy hung nooses in a tree and SIX black guys jumped him almost to death.i understand the outrage at the white guys actions, but it was completly uncalled for when the SIX guys jumped him. it was SIX to ONE. so then the 6 guys go to jail, ALL of them get out except for 1 (Mychal Bell) and he is still in jail because he has 4 prior violent convictions and he was still on probation when he attacked Justin Barker (the 1 white guy). how is this racist? (except for the nooses) i believe its called the LAW. 6 guys went to jail for beating up 1 guy. if u really think about it...notice that alot of ppl lately have been playing the race card. u cant do nothing anymore without being called a racist. to me the only racist part of this story is the nooses. the ppl in jena should get together to make it against the law to hang nooses, they shouldnt miss work to rally and protest for the law being enforced.

Jellicle Cat the link u gave me doesnt really do it for me. it sounds like they are favoring only the black commmunity. i want something that tells the fact about the white and black ppl involved. not just the the white ppl.

They didn't almost beat him to death. I heard the guy was out of the hospital that same day and even went to a party that night. I'm sorry but I think that charging them with attempted murder is way too harsh. Aggravated assault maybe but not attempted murder!

Justin Barker had NOTHING to do with hanging the nooses in the tree. It was three other guys who did that. The noose incident is a separate incident. The media through that in to distort the facts of the case. Justin Barker didn't go out and party the same night, he went to a ring ceremony at school. What he did after he was released from the hospital has nothing to do with his attack, I don't know why people keep bringing it up.The racist factor in this story is 6 BLACK guys beat 1 WHITE guy. Besides, Mychal Bell is a repeat violent offender; society is much better off with him behind bars. Good luck. 2D

Follow that link to the timetable of events leading up to the beating. It has a lot of facts that were left out by the media. It is a very sad situation.
Did you bother to read the whole thing? Because it does say what occurred in chronological order both black and white. The timeline is of the events by both races leading up to the beating of the white man.
