the Gulf Stream is indeed the answer............it's the largest flow of water in the world, hundreds of times bigger than the Amazon........and the reason that Ireland, Scotland and Norway aren't frozen solid each winter like the parts of Canada and Russia that are at the same latitude.....

Coconut seeds are carried by water. Probably got sent by ocean currents to Ireland

I agree with magnumgirl. They probably followed the gulfstream flow from the carribean, washed ashore on Ireland and started to grow.
