Who was the better president and why? (Judging Bush from achievements and failures thus far)

kenny j: "both sucked" is an illogical answer. The question is which was better than the other. It does not necessarily imply that one or both of them were good.

Reagan had chrisma, Bush does not.
Reagan could speak in coherent sentences, Bush cannot.
Reagan used military force only sparingly, Bush has an itchy trigger finger.
Reagan and Bush compare on deficits being the highest ever.
Both are opportunists but Reagan was better at selecting the opportunities to make himself look good. Bush can't seem to do that.
Reagan was less corrupt than Bush, Reagan told fewer lies than Bush, Reagan wasn't nearly as arrogant as Bush.
Reagan wasn't greedy like Bush.
Reagan was competent unlike Bush.
Reagan promoted America as good Bush has done just the opposite.

This and much more makes Reagan a much better President than Bush. Then again the previous bottom feeder (worst pres.) is better than George W. Bush.

Reagan did some corrupt acts, as do nearly every Republican. If ignoring the law is the only thing needed to get their way, they'll do it every time. However, Reagan accomplished one truly great feat - he ended the cold war!!

Bush has no great feats as concern the country, only his buds came out ahead during hid terms. His deeds (all of them)were detrimental to the US as a whole. Because of Bush it's likely the cold war may be back in full force .

Ronald Reagan. The tv shows, and the music, were much better when he was in office. As for movies, I cite Back to the Future, Amadeus, Repo Man, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. I rest my case! And, oh, yeah, before I forget, a lot less people died on his watch, and he didn't make any commitments that he couldn't get out of!

Reagan by a mile.

W. Bush is OK to good, but he has never come close to the greatness of Ronald Reagan.

Reagan easily. Reagan was not afraid to talk to anyone who America felt was the enemy. He also had no problem sitting down with the head of the Democratic Party to get the country's business done. And in spite of his successes, there was no need for all of this venomous back biting that we see between the current administration and the Democrats.

Ronald Reagan.... seriously, why even ask this? Bush is a terrible president... he's not even in the league of Ronald Reagan.

Since Ronald Reagan secretly sold weapons to Iran, and GW Bush sent our troops to the Middle East to be blown up by them...

I'd have to say neither and suggest Bill Clinton. I know he couldn't resist sex with a young woman who was trying to seduce him, but at least no one was killed.
