I've just posted in polls and surveys, I was trying to have a laugh, but loads of people can't have read it all. I can tell that by the answers. lol

My question is: Do you read the whole question or just guess what some of it may say?

I woke up on Monday, and posted a 'tongue in check' question, about the fact I had received no emails, from my firends on the site, and was lonely here. something to that effect anyway.

Someone answered my question by suggesting I was suffering from depression, and gave me a site to go to! Their intentions, were good, but they did not get it. I llive "Down Under" in Australia. We are a day ahead of you, give or take.

I always read all the question and if it's a serious question I'll read it a second time just to make sure I have the facts right. I know what you mean though some people don't read all the question and some will even answer by saying sorry they don't know the answer. What's the point of that, well the points I suppose. Fancy you posting a rude joke! Good for you, know any more?

I read the whole question before I post, and sometimes even some of the answers. In some cases I will read the whole of the question, and all of the answers, and decide not to post because what I would have said is already there. In some cases I will read all of the question and all of the answers and decide not to post because I don't find the question or answers valid to me. In rare cases I read some of the question, find it so completely ridiculous (or spiteful, or hurtful, or derogatory) that I just can not stand the thought of reading another word and will leave without posting an answer. Sometimes (not at all often) I find the question so rude and disgusting that I file a report against it.

In ALL cases except that one I already outlined, I read the whole of the question.

I read the whole question. I used to like polls and surveys, but some of the people in there are 12. Most are 10! I put just about everything in seniors now.

When you answer a question?
My question is: Do you read the whole question or just guess what some of it may say?

Your question should be your opening one, the one at the very top. Not another entirely different one in loads of bumph splurged over the page.

Be Concise ask one question at a time then you will not confuse some of us Old Farts.

I have noticed time and again that some only read the first few lines of a question and then give an answer--sometimes it is a spoof and they miss the point all together. Gives me a grin--I read it all -- learned that one a long time ago. Hang in there, and some people never laugh. ;0)

I read the header and form an instant reaction. Then I read the whole Q and form another reaction. Then I think about the two and decide which I like better. If I decide to just answer the header, I explain the reason.

I CAREFULLY read all the question, because Ive seen so many times that people have read incorrectly,or missed the question completely and the answers sometime make no sense at all, and sometimes are critical over nothing to do with the original question.

okay, i read your entire "question" in the polls & surveys-pretty amusing. it was quite obvious that some of the answerers did not read the entire thing. my observation would be that the type of people who answer polls & surveys questions are not too thorough and skip through the questions without a whole lot of observation. yes, i will generally read the entire question if it merits an answer (i skip the ones that are like 8 paragraphs about petty personal problems)
