It IS just the carling cup, m4rky, no matter how you dress it up.
Fergie picked a side he thought ought to do well, and they've been shown up. If this means it gives some of the youngstars a reality check and either improves them in the long-run or weeds out those who wont the grade at the highest level then it'll be worthwhile.
Fair play to Coventry, who've played well (and they made changes too).
You might also want to note more fans were at OT tonight than went to last years final!!

And the debate goes on and on. Rotation, irrelevant tourneys, whatever. If it isn't worth it why register for it? Why participate? All they've done is taken the opportunity of some smaller glory seeking club and this is unfortunate. We don't have to see United but we need to see keen competition. The League should do something about this malaise amongst the top four. Perhaps exclusding them for a start. Anyway footie appears to be the only endeavour where the more you practice the worse you get or how do you explain benching your best players when you have tough competition coming ahead. In those days practice (tactics, conditioning, team work, set pieces, etc) makes perfect. Not anymore. The good news is, there's certainly no guarantee United will win any particlar trophy this season so there's no point sacrificing any. Just ask Chelsea.

I couldn't agree more. You are a true Man Utd fan We say what we see. Fergie only seems to care about Fergie nowadays. His obsession is the Champions League. I'll bet Rooney would have been playing if that was the fixture tonight. He should treat all competitions as important. It is disrespectful to all the other teams in the competition to treat it in this way, and also to the 74,000+ crowd who spend their hard earned money coming to support a second class effort from a second class side.
Congratulations and good luck to all the other Managers, Teams and Fans who have made the effort tonight to go out and try their best.
I only wish we had been one of them.

Yes, man utd are and have mostly played boring football . I think Fergie doesn't give a flying fxxk about the Carling cup, but then, if you want to see a decent game you should follow an entertaining team like ARSENAL, now that's what I call football, even with a bunch of kids they beat Newcastle.

Tot el Camp
The whole Stadium
És un Clam
Is chanting
Som la Gent Blaugrana,
We are the "Blaugrana" people
Tant se val d'on venim,
It doesn't matter where we come from
Si del Sud o del Nord,
From the South or from the North
Ara estem d'acord, estem d'acord,
Now we all agree, we all agree
Una bandera ens agermana.
A flag joins us Brotherhood
Blaugrana al vent,
"Blaugrana" in the wind
Un crit valent,
A valient scream
Tenim un nom,
We have a name
El sap tothom:
The whole world knows it
BARÇA !, BARÇA!, BARÇA!,
Jugadors,
Players
Seguidors
Fans
Tots units fem força
All united we have the strength
Són molts anys plens d'afanys,
So many years full of hard work
Són molts gols que hem critdat,
So many goals we have cheered for
I s'ha demostrat, s'ha demostrat,
and we have shown, we have shown
Que mai ningú no ens podrà tòrcer.
that nobody will be able to break us
Blaugrana al vent,
"Blaugrana" in the wind
Un crit valent,
A valient scream
Tenim un nom,
We have a name
El sap tothom:
The whole world knows it
BARÇA !, BARÇA!, BARÇA!,

you seem p!ssed off, i get like that sometimes, but not about the carling cup (if it was the fa cup that would be a different story)..... at the end of the end its considered a mickey mouse cup and the team Fergie put out should have been good enough to beat coventry at home but our youngsters aint half as good as reserve teams weve had in the past, and hopefully fergie will get rid of a load of the wastes of space.
Anyway to whoever the mug was that called u a cnut (does he think if you report him, yahoo wont realise what he meant!), everyones entitled to an opinion. i dont think you should risk players for the carling cup, i think top teams should follow arsenals way of thinking by playing a mostly reserve team (ours is just crapper!), but thats just my opinion.......anyway i dont care what you say, you soooo love fergie, just let the anger go away, come on, say it with me "Fergies the Man"
red d remember we aint got the greatest, largest squad at the mo, so we might as well save our best for premiership, champions league and fa cup

I put a possum in the teachers drawer in the 4th grade. I didn't know it but she was watching me through a crack in the door that went to another classroom. We all sat down when the bell rang and she walked to the front and called my name to come and get my pet out of her desk. I was so shocked and embarrassed when everyone laughed, on top of that the possum got excited and bit my finger so hard I thought it was going to fall off. I started crying which boys did not do but "it hurt bad". She took me to the principals office and gave me 4 licks, my finger didn't hurt as bad as my ****. I made the honor roll in school after that and never fooled around anymore. Sure was a dull time after that. Enjoy.

Unfortunately the Carling cup is not a high priority to Sir Alex, we need Rooney fit for the season.
So would you say it is worth risking him? the players we had out there were more than capable.

come on now red d, it's the carling cup....my team liverpool played last night, couldn't give a monkeys if they lost or won, it doesn't matter, it's not important and the same goes for you, would you rather win the carling cup with your top players or have a better chance of winning the league and fa cup with these players being fresher?? (champion's league ain't happening 4 u i'm sorry 2 say...may as well play the reserves in that too!)
haha, i like this girl, if an answer's sh*t she tells them so in no uncertain terms!
