the transmission seal is bad...you will need to remove the agitator and tub...drain all the oil and water out of transmission and refill with 90 weight oil....replace seal (usually the seal is on the agitator shaft and is easily replaced)....this is an easy fix if you are mechanically minded....the parts will be less than 50 dollars...way cheaper to fix if machine works good other than this leak, than to buy a new machine..

That would be your transmission leaking. Unless you're under warranty, it would be expensive to repair. The good news is that it will probably run for years before it becomes a problem. Odds are you'll have trouble with something else before it becomes an issue. Just put something under the machine to keep the oil from staining the floor.

It could be the pump. Many pumps are oil filled. If the machine works well and is not an antique, its worth having repaired.

Its gear box oil. If its more then 5-8yrs old. Dont waste your money on repairs

sounds like the seal in the transmission is leaking, you might be able to tighten the bolts to tighten it up,
