A home, and a brand new way of looking at life.

My mother and two brothers died when I was in my teens. Later, my father committed suicide, which left me orphaned, alone, and homeless. A former school teacher of mine came to my rescue. He was so kind and caring. He helped me in every way. Eventually, he adopted me as his own son. He was single, retired, and had no children of his own. There was no sane reason for him to take on a troubled kid like myself, but he did, and I'm so grateful. As he was dying, I held his hand and told him how much I loved and appreciated him. He truly changed everything for me. I miss him every day.

I'd have to say the gift of life, from my parents.

If I didn't receive that, I wouldn't be typing this to you now!

my b-day is next week, and my hubby is paying for my long- awaited shoulder surgery. the insurance company wouldn't pay, so he is going to pay out of pocket.

i told him that's the best gift anyone has ever given me. it is life-changing, as now i can get back to functioning/playing volleyball again... and best of all: no more pain!!!

to be received Oct. 8th... :D
