... both are genuine people, and well educated with tons of experience...it would be helpful to get positive knowledge from them and their shows, but to put them on a pedestal isn't wise...this is true of any knowledgeable people...one should use a well rounded support system that includes their Faith, their friends and family...take from each of these things what you can use and leave the rest

Oprah doesn't, cuz she only listens to people and gives her opinions. Whenever she's expressing a personal view, she makes it clear that it's her own opinion and you don't have to agree with her.

But Dr Phill does, because he never listens carefully, he just judges, and then he tells people what to do based on his own set of bias and people believe him without even analysing what he says because he claims to be a psychologist and they automatically assume he's right. I personally think that a lot of times, he just isn't right.

Most professional, REAL psychologists will agree.

Dr. Phill gets high marks from this household. !!!
He helps the contestants, only if they truly desire to change their situation. I feel he helps most to see the light.
He gives good sound make sense advice.~~~~~~~jill
Tape his show Alexgirl, you may be missing the one for you.

Edit---I feel the same about Oprah and watch her and Montel daily also. I admire Montel with MS & his struggles to carry on the show. I would miss him.

I find them both mundane. They both talk in circles and never really say anything to get to the point. Especially Dr. Phil, goes on and on but says nothing really.

I personally feel that they are enablers. People who should be quiet and go on with their lives make a big deal of whatever it is on TV, and basically waste time they could be using productively.
