Masturbating is perfectly fine. It is a natural function of the body and harms no one. Most people only think it's a waste of time and energy right after they're done, and that's because your sex drive can almost disappear after ejaculation. It's a good way to relieve stress, and if you've got it, you might as well use it.
Porn, on the other hand, poisons the mind. It disgraces the human body and puts lustful thoughts into the mind of the watcher, which is a sin.
It's very possible to masturbate without pornographic materials, trust me.

I would like your sources as to where your conclusion of porn = mental illness came about.
Why do you ask everyones opinion when yours is made up and you have already passed judgment?
The sexual release is actually important for the male reproductive system...look that up before you start talking nonsense.
To Luke: Do you masturbate while looking at plants then? Or while watching a baseball game? Because even if you are thinking of someone you are resorting to pornographic thinking. Just because it is not on the screen in front of you, it doesn't make it any different. You are 13 little boy...you don't know anything about anything. Wait a few years before coming into the "Men's Health" section.

Wow!! Not sure what text you're using to state watching porn is mental illness. People waste time and energy doing any number of unproductive tasks...asking lame questions on Yahoo Answers, for example.
My opinion? Doesn't carry any weight at all...people of both sexes have been, and will continue, to masturbate untill eternity.

The answer to your question is, YES it is O K. It is perfectly normal for both males and females. No harm will come of it unless artificial objects are used improperly or in excess.However, it is strictly a matter of personal preference. If you believe that it is a waste of time and energy, practice abstinence. Watching porn is also up to the individual. No harm will result from watching it, unless of course, the person watching it tries to practice some sexual act that could be physically harmful. For example, a young person could try to insert a foreign object into their backside and cause serious injury.

Since I've been having sexual relations with myself everyday since high school, I think you can say I'm prejudiced in favor of masturbating. In defense of having sex with yourself, my husband and I masturbate in front of each other all the time as the most intense forplay either of us has ever experienced; and anything promoting love between us can't possibly be a bad thing. I don't expect to change your mind, since you've already stated that masturbating was a waste of time and energy. So, you can have your close minded opinion, while I'll be over here, humping my pillow while my husband watches.

I think it is OK to masturbate. I don't think its a waste of time or energy because I get a high return of satisfaction and pleasure. Porn is, in my opinion pictures of heaven sent mates, (beautiful women) indulging their God given ability to enjoy the body temple, also God given. I thank the Lord every day for giving me the ability, the means and the time to enjoy my body.

My opinion is that you're a deprived kid, probably with a small penis and little chance of having sexual relations. Quite simply because your attitude to this totally normal activity is that its a waste of time and energy. Its about satisfying yourself and giving yourself pleasure and enjoyment in the absence of your partner who would normally provide the pleasure for you!
