I'm relying solely on my years as a honor roll student here. Usually when the following word starts with a consonant, you would use "A". However, I don't believe this applies to abbreviations. in this case, "An" would be correct.

not really sure what the correct grammer would be, in fact I myself rely on you to teach me grammar and spelling . As far as the std thing goes just let me know if anyone got gaught by the bug and I'll be right over with the penicillin vial and syringes! =)
