I really need help on my tec project,i am useing pine,But i want it a darker colour.
I am thinking of useing wood stain,Then engraveing on it my name and swrily desgins,so that it appears in the yellow pin colour on the dark wood.
How and what would be the easyest way to do this, as i am an amutaur and only 14.

oh yeah a pyrograph....like where the heck is this kid going to get a pyrograph. Hey kid, go to Home depot and buy a Dremel. Cost is about $20. They give you different tool heads. There are a couple different ones to use to carve on wood. You can almost hold it like a pen, a fat pen. Practice a couple times before you carve on the actual wood.

To engrave on wood I use a pyrograph. You can get the same effect with a soldering iron to etch a pattern onto the surface. Always ensure that an adult is around to supervise the use of items that require being connected to electricity.
Then stain the wood after it is engraved and the dark lines will stand out against the colour of the wood.

I'm with mrsdeli but take it one step further. Buy the routerbase attachment. It makes doing scrollwork and lettering so much easier and neater. It will be used for years to come and is a great tool on or off the base.
