In our society, American society, women tend to read more than men. On a professional level, men tend to read more than women. That's mainly because there are more men than women in careers requiring a continual upgrade of knowledge such as medicine and engineering. It's becoming much more even in business. Otherwise the answer is no. It's about even.

Women tend to read more than men so it appears they are.
My man reads technical books rather than novels so tends to pick up and put down at odd times.
