A) first, start off real simple. How many km will the jet travel in 1 min? we are given 60km for every 5min.
60km /(divided by) 5min = 12km (per) in 1 minute.

how many minutes in an hour? 60min/hour *2 hours = 120 minutes.

so, 120 minutes multiplied by 12km/min = 1440km traveled in 2 hours or 120 minutes

you can also say that this jet will travel 720km in 1 hour
(1440km/2hours = 720km per hour)

now you can use 720 and multiply with a length of time in hours to figure how many km it will travel.

example, how many km in 100 hours?
(720km * 100hrs = 72000km)

the jet will travel 72000km in 100 hours.

B) Using what we know from the last answer, it will travel 1440km in 2 hours. Since the velocity of the jet is constant we can assume that it will keep traveling 1440 km every 2 hours since nothing in the question says that there will be any change in velocity of the jet.

The difference in time between 6 hours and 2 hours is 4 hours. (6 - 2 = 4)

so 1440km per 2 hours can be multplied by 2 so that the distance covered will equal how much it would have went in 4 hours. (2*2 = 4 hours)

so we can multiply the distance covered in 2 hours by 2 to express 4 hours.

1440km*2 = 2880km

In 6 hours, the jet will go 2880km further than it would in 2 hours. (4 hour difference)

C) For this question i am going to assume that the jet is traveling at the same speed. Since we already figured out how many km it will travel in 4 hours in the last question.
The answer is also 2880km

2*12*60 = 1440 km in 2 hours
3*1440 = 4320 km in 6 hours

4320-1440 = 2880 km more

2880 km

The jet travels 720 km/hour
So distance = 720h where h = number of hours flown.
