Well, tough question.
But for me, enlightenment means knowing - in both the mind AND the heart - that we are all a part of one another (and of all creation), that when we hurt another, we are also hurt and when we help another, we are helped as well.
If you know this AND live this - not only talk the talk but walk the walk - then I'd call you "enlightened."

How wonderful it is to have some perspective, dear. After constantly asking yourself what direction your life is going, doesn't it feel great to finally feel as if you know? How very wise you are! Yet all this recent wisdom is exhausting. You feel as though you've made a long trip up to the mountaintop to speak with the learned wise person at the top. Now that you're back down in civilization, it's time to find a soft bed and relax for a bit.

enlightment is searched by many people, the shalom monks believe it's spiritual and other people believe it relates to obtaining satisfaction in what you did in life. Enlightment to me is the process were the body and the mind connect together with a sense of unity amongst the world.
