...at my school and he/she sits alone at lunch. Everybody talks about him/her and I feel really sorry, and so do my friends. Do you think it would be a good idea if tomorrow I ask him/her to sit with my friends and I?

And I'm serious about this question.

Thanks to those of you who answered. I'm gonna do it tomorrow, the only thing I'm afraid is what if the person says no?

I think that would be really nice. Be prepared for lots of stares and horrible comments, but be the bigger person and befriend them.

I think it would be an awesome idea. You never know what their problems(s) are and if you can be a help to them just by being a friend or doing a simple act of kindness such as just sitting with them at lunch and making them feel wanted. I give you a lot of credit for even thinking about doing such a great act...most people would be cowards...ya know afraid of the unknown. Good luck.

This is really nice of you to want to sit with this person. Yes, I think it's a good idea because everyone needs friends. Once you get to know him/her, you might discover that this person is really sweet and a good friend.

I hope you befriended the gentle-person by now. People are some very nasty beings at times. Do not conform to their lack of standards.

I think that would be a very good idea; but if you do, you'll have to stop saying 'him/her'.

if you'd like a little background information before you make your approach, may I suggest you look here;
