I have a 1992 S-10. It's a 4.3 V6. I want to put a new muffler on it but i'm not sure which way to go. Any ideas on what would sound the best?

if you really want to improve the sound and also add some hp, do the exhaust from the cat back and make sure its all high quality stainless steel. I believe magnaflow offers something for that model yr at a reasonable price. Your other option is to start shopping ebay or pick up some aftermarket mags and start calling around.

I'm not sure what area you are in but, if you choose to go from the cat back make sure you tell the guy doing your muffler you want the cat or see if he will knock the price down if he keeps the cat they are worth quite a bit

go mad and change the whole lot. buy a headers manifold chuck the cat away and replace with a straight through pipe and put two cherry bomb on each side also change your air filter as with a direct induction kit, smt like a k&n and there u go. that would increase the power slightly and u will burn less petrol as the air intake and gas outflow would be without any obstruction and would sound good(not in the middle of the night while everyone is sleeping).

in case you will get the muffler, then you could to boot get a tip, in case you prefer to spend the money for the top. Sme exhaust tips might properly be somewhat expensive. in case you like your vehicle loud, then it somewhat is advisable to get rid of the resonator in the experience that your vehicle has one. removing that still will make it a splash louder.
