The word, "obsess" (or "to be obsessed") is defined as "preoccupy continually or to a troubling extent". Obsession can be for a person or thing or act. The person affected by an obsession desires the object of his obsession with enormous passion, ferocity and even madness. Obsession is not just passionate; it is ferocious and cruel.
