It's not just Americans though. It's all of the richest nations of the world who enjoy economic superiority at the expense of the vast majority of humanity.
I don't think you can completely blame America for the problem. In fact, a lot of Americans are at the forefront of the movement to recognize the facts you point out and to use their wealth to make the world a better place.
Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are just two of many, many examples.
What about the corrupt leaders of China who don't care a whit about environmental protection and worker's rights?
The core cause of much of the world's poverty and suffering is due to corrupt and nasty leaders who maintain power through coercion and violence.

You’re absolutely spot on but the problem is many people simply cannot tolerate the truth and will not thank you for painting a very different picture to the one they have painted in their own hearts and minds.
Anyway, thank you for an excellent post :o)

So what is new?
Since the beginning of time countries, and people have oppressed,, and used one another in one way shape, or form.
The only difference is the time (in history), place, and faces of those involved.
Human nature has not changed, nor will it anytime soon.
Why is it that the USA is the country that seems to be first in line when some one needs help, but is the first to get blamed for the ills that seem to plague everyone, everywhere?
Remember when you point your finger at someone, there are at least three pointing right back at you.

Each person can combat this by making deliberate choices in every single item they buy. For example, NEVER shop at Walmart.
And also, by living a simple frugal lifestyle. Oh, yeah - and by always voting the Republicans OUT.
