If you are refluxing (heartburn) do NOT eat anything.

The best medicine is anything that contains Magnesium Carbonate.
The acid in the stomach is Hydrochloric Acid. Hence the horrible acid burning sensation when you reflux.

To neutralise an acid use a carbonate, neither a base nor alkali.

The Magnesium Carbonate is a salt and so will have minimal effect on the human organism, but it will neutralise acids.

MgCO3 + 2HCl = MgCl2 + H2O + CO2

The CO2 is the 'burp' you have when taking this type of medicine.
