I am a mother of 3 beautiful mixed race children.Have you thought about the huge responsibility when bringing up mixed raced kids in a society that is not always kind to people of different races. My children have faced some of the most horrendous racism and as their mother(single parent)it has been my responsibility to nurture my kids in ways that a mother of white kids would not have to do.We have overcome a lot of discrimination but believe me it sometimes never stops. My children are confidant and secure because i have made sure they are but it has been hard for them and myself.Pretty looks and cuteness is not a barrier to adversity.I would'nt change a thing but be prepared to face things you would not normally have to face. You should be behind your children every step of the way and that means educating yourself if you are a white woman about your future childrens identities.I feel you must be young to make a desicion to have children based on what they might look like. That is not the right reason to base your choices on.Message me if you want more info.

For me the question is not how first generation, which consisted of mostly (Pure African/Pure White) whereby the separation of race could be physiologically “reasoned” for the Slave owners. No matter how cold or callous these individuals were even the smallest amount of human/humane consciousness would have torn both parents. These children were sold not for financial gain but 1. as not to offend the plantation matriarch, family and southern social order. 2. In the event the child was a female and the father having male children from his marriage it would avoid the opportunity of incest. 3. Most human beings would have a hard time watching their children being raised as slaves. I’m sure there were situations where children were allowed to stay under the careful eye of the paternal father especially if the father’s alternate relations (pseudo sister wives) had been “accepted” by his wife. That being said, my curiosity is drawn to situations where already multiraced slave women themselves had children with white fathers. Growing up in a mixed house hold my brothers are now married to women of visibly European descent. Their children all have various skin color and hair texture. One niece has straight blond hair and green eyes with a very slight olive complexion while another looks Middle eastern or of Brazilian origin and the baby looks more like her 50/50 mixed raced father. Watching them and seeing other recent stories on the subject opened up a completely different thought about just how sensitive and hypocritical this society had to have been. If the slave owner had 3 children from his slave/s and one child had very pale skin with freckles and red hair resembling his own mother, what truly happened to these children? My guess is that they were removed and sent to an orphanage or given to a poor local white family to raise as their own or a ‘her mother died at childbirth story.” At some point these children would have had to have been removed from the rest of the slave population as holding and allowing these visibly European looking children under the guise of “Mother’s heritage” to be kept as slaves and marry men of African descent would have underscored the very fabric and reasoning to keep a whole society of people enslaved to begin with.

Love who you fall in love with, not that persons skin colour cos you want a black baby. That's a very ignorant way of thinking. You're probably not old enough to remember, but can anyone else remember the Harry Enfield sketch with Wayne and Waynetta Slob when Waynetta complains "I wanna brown baby, all the other mums in the play ground have a brown baby, why can't I?" Hilarious!!
Btw, I do have dual heritage children, but only because I fell in love with my husband for the man he is and nothing to do with his colour. Our children are a blessing and not a fashionable commodity. I
If you are serious about this question you asked then you are definatly not emotionally or mentally ready to raise a baby of any colour.

I don't have any, mine is white. But I know 3 mixed race kids. They are pretty, but so are the white ones. They're no better or worse than anybody else.

At first I thought this was a legit question...but being envious because of physical features is just despicable...not being able to have child and wanting one is legit...just wanting a mixed child for sake of having a mixed child is crazy!!!

I'm the mom of 3 biracial kids. They are beautiful but I agree with the person who said that white kids (and black and Hispanic, etc.) are also beautiful. I'm proud of my children but NOT because they are mixed.
There is nothing wrong with being in an interracial relationship and having children but it shouldn't be done for the wrong reasons.
