It's not that big a deal if you are measuring small. I am also 33 weeks and I measure about 36cm. The calculations that the doctors use to figure out when you conceived are not always dead accurate. So you could be 2 weeks later than they say or 2 weeks earlier. It sounds like in your case, either your're just a little earlier or have a smaller baby. If you feel good then I wouldn't worry about it too much. =)

I don't think that you will go into labor early just because you are measuring big. I measured big during my entire pregnancy, and my son was born at 40 weeks and six days and weighed 9 lbs, 12 oz. I have known people who have been induced a week or two early that were measuring really big, your OB may want to do that if your measurements stay high. Good Luck

well the due date also isin't an exact science. several months after you're first prenatal visit they will often adjust the delivery date. you aren't measuring that far off either, so don't be scared. the average is however many weeks along you are that's how big you should be measuring. call the doctor if you expericence any change in the babys movement, and eat a some extra (healthy) calories like an extra sandwhich, or an extra serving of pasta....and get lots of rest. relax, enjoy your pregnancy. blessings to you and you're new addition!

You're not too far off. Usually "normal" will have a variance of about 2cm off in either direction, so 3cm isn't bad, especially when it was just at one office visit. If it's off by more than 2cm at the next visit, they will probably do an ultrasound to check baby's growth and the fluid level. The first thing they do is make sure that your due date is correct. If they are sure it's right, then yes, they will just watch your baby's growth more closely. You might have to come in for frequent ultrasounds.

I wouldn't worry if your doctor didn't seem concerned. This isn't terribly unusual. It could have been the position of the baby.

When the gestational age [ weeks ] and the fundal height
[ size ] don't correspond, they do some more testing, such as a sonogram if next mesurement is also off. They measure baby's size, amount of amniotic fluid, and function of the placenta.
If you are closer to term, they do non-stress tests, placing you on the moniter to see how baby's heartrate responds to movement.
Most babies [ over 95% of them ] measure exactly as they are supposed to. A few of them are ornery. but most are OK with testing. A very few will have to be delivered early.

They will probably just do a sonogram to check on the baby's weight. You're only about 3cm below where you should be, and it's not that big of a deal. I wouldn't worry about it.

They may put you on high risk which means you would have to go back more often and they may do tests or more ultrasounds.
