Some do have a motherly instinct of what the baby is, I felt all along that I was pregnant with a boy . . . and my ultrasound confirmed that for me.

I don't know about that. You don't really start showing... most of the time... till you're about 4-5 months pregnant. With my first I didn't really show at all. If people didn't know that I was pregnant they wouldn't have known at all. Of course I wore really baggy clothes at that time. But really every woman and pregnancy is different. No one is really the same or even experiences the exact same things as you will. So don't base everything on what other girls are saying cause it's not going to be what you will always get. Also not everyone is able to tell what they are having till more like the 16 week or later.

Every women is different and just because you're not as big as the "norm" it doesn't mean something is wong.
The way they would if it is a boy or girl is through the ultra sound, which I am sure you've had one already, but 13 weeks seems early to tell. Usually around 16 weeks, but then again every case is unique.
As long as you're feeling fine and your doctor is not expressing any concerns I would just relax and enjoy being pregnant. After all you just left the 1 rough trimester behind you! YAY, most of the annoying symptoms should be gone now! Lol...
Good luck and take care!

There's no way to know. They may just be guessing or going according to old wives tales. Every single person I met when I was pregnant swore I was having a boy because I was carrying high and hadn't gained much weight, I was even so sure it was a boy. But I had a girl. You just gotta wait until your ultrasound! But in the meantime EVERYONE you talk to will try to tell you what it is according to how you look. Just smile and nod =)

They are just guessing, unless they had an amnio for some reason. I'm 13 weeks along with my 2nd baby and you can only tell I'm pregnant after I eat a big meal.

there are many many silly predictors out there. i mean they are fun, but you should never go by them. i believe you have to be at least 18 weeks to know from an ultra sound. maybe somepeople have seen at 16 or 17 but thats pretty lucky. i am waiting 2 weeks to get my 20 week ultrasound. wish you the best of luck. oh yeah try the what to expect when your expecting website. lots of cool people on there and soooooooo much info. congrats!

Everybody starts showing and carries different!! People like to talk about the old wives tales..but I don't buy it!! I carried totally different with both of my pregnancies and they are both boys...so unless you find out by ultrasound...you have a 50/50 chance of guessing right.

They only know if they've had genetic testing or a very skilled ultrasound technician.
Just wait, have fun speculating, the size of your belly has nothing to do with which gender you will have. And you'll find out soon!

You cant compare your body shape to other women to get a determination of gender or whether you are growing properly. I would think they are just guessing. there are sevearl old wives tales about gender-is the baby carrying low or high etc. You may have to wait.

It is possible that they may have had an amnio which would reveal the sex, not sure how early an amnio is offered, I thought closer to 15 to 18 weeks
