A doctor figures your due date by counting 40 weeks from your lmp, and 40 weeks is 10 lunar months (exactly 28 days each), which is a bit over 9 calendar months (30 or 31 days each). If you count 9 calendar months, you will be short of your due date. When people say pregnancy is for 9 months, they are rounding, because it's really a little more than 9 full calendar months.

Because you're pregnant for 40 weeks - which if you divide by 4 = 10 months. But, no month (except Feb) is 28 days. That's why everything is measured in weeks at the docs.

You ARE NOT PREGNANT FOR TEN MONTHS.
40 weeks = 280 days. If there are 30 or 31 days (for an average of 30.5 days) that equals 9.18 months.
Peopel who think you are pregnant for 10 months think there is only 4 weeks in a month, which is 28 days. With the exception of february, every month has MORE THAN 28 days! A month has about 4.3-4.4 weeks.
Your doctor is correct, you have about 8 weeks to go, or 2 months. You're probably "IN" your 32nd week, not 32 completed weeks.

Don't think of it as being pregnant. Go by weeks, it's easier to keep track. A pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. If you are 32 you still have eight weeks to go, then you will be due around November 25th.

well, there's a little more than 4 weeks in a month, so even though you're almost 32 weeks, you're not 8 months pregnant (you're actually around 7 months). If you count it out on a calendar, 9 months is actually 39 weeks, so pregnancy is just a little over 9 months.

No... your doctor is right. If he's saying that you're 32 weeks right now, then at 40 weeks you will be near the end of November. Just pull out a calendar and count 8 weeks from today.

Your due date is calculated from the first day of your period, not the day you conceived. And it is always easier just to count by weeks I've found, than to try and count by months. 40 weeks would put your due date at 11-25, just like your doctor said. Remember, every month is not exactly 4 weeks!

Pregnancy is 40 weeks long to be considered "full term" or "due"
40 weeks divided by 9 months is 4.44 - so each "month" is almost 4 1/2 weeks - not 4.
32 weeks divided by 4.44 is 7.2 months. 36 weeks is around your 8th month (end of Oct) and 40 weeks is 9 mos (end of Nov) .
Does this explain it?

because your pregnant for 10 months not 9
4 weeks times 10 equals 40 weeks
40 weeks divided by 4 equals 10

9 full months which if you count from the date of your LMP which guessing by your implantation estimate appears it was around the 4th of February right? So that makes November. They are right. Congrats!
