Actually I rather like fruitcake in small doses. It tastes rather like a kind of fruity chocolate cake.

As heavy as most fruitcake is, it's probably good to eat a lot of it before a windstorm to keep you from being blown away.

It wasn't till I got to my forties that I actually liked eating fruit cake.
Some how, most young folks just don't care for it.
It seems that it's an acquired taste. The kind from Corsicana TX.
is the most famous. Beatrice Foods also make a pretty good one. Lately I've been getting the one they sell at Costco

Fruity...
The texture,smell and taste remind me of special family occassions. Weddings and Xmas.

A good homemade fruit cake tastes beautiful, moist and rich and lovely with a bit of crumbly Cheddar cheese too.

Mixed peel and dare I say it vomit. it is the most vile concoction ever invented. I think someone bored sat down one day and decided to see how far they could go with chucking ingredients into a bowl! BLEUGH!

Really nice.It is one of my hobbies to make fruit cakes to an old farmhouse recipe, plenty of fruit, eggs. nuts. cherries etc. I would send you a photo if I knew how. I think you would enjoy a slice.

well lemme just say this...when my mum found out how to make fruitcake...that's when we all had to eat it and make it look like we liked it..we had fruitcake coming out of every orifice...i hated the stuff....she even made the whole street fruitcake...ack ack....
