1) If you report someone, don't tell they in your answer.
2) Never play Avatar games. They get deleted and you lose 2 points.
3) Watch for certain Trolls and don't answer their questions. They will try to "connect" with you and scan your file and report you and you'll get Violation Notices.

1) Be careful what you say or ask.
2) Don't say anything along the lines of "I'm awesome" or anything that might be considered 'conceited,' because people on here are crazy about that.
3) If you post a provocative question in Religion & Spirituality, expect a long wordy answers that don't address the question.
4) If you answer a ? in politics, expect a ton of thumbs down.
5) The Pregnancy and childbirth category is most generous with thumbs up.
6) A guy can never get a best answer in Women's Health, unless he apologizes for being a guy.
7) Don't criticize a riddle somebody made up and posted in Jokes & Riddles.
8) People think there is a real tangible value in earning points.
9) After a year on Y! Answers, you get a duffle bag or T-shirt.

1. I'm clueless with newer music and I know very little about rap.
2. I'm older than probably 90% of all the people on these boards.
3. I look at math questions and realize just how much I've forgotten in the past 10 years since leaving school.

I'd have to say the most important things I've learned are issues related to starting businesses or career paths.

The second thing I've learned is that people are all still just people and have hiney-holish opinions and are just downright nasty in any community.

The third thing I've learned is that I'm not the only one who feels certain ways about certain issues, there are actually people who agree with my beliefs.

So my experience here is more positive than negative.

Stay away from the religion category

There are idiots that will report questions and answers no matter how legit or well worded so not to offend. If they don't like the opinions they report--so childish.

That there are good people out there with good advice/intentions and I respect all opinions.

3. There are a lot more people in the world who have some serious issues that they need to work on.

1. Read past questions before you post the same question for the hundreth time.
2. If you don't have something nice (or helpful or constructive, etc.) to say, don't say it.
3. Alot of people have very little to do all day long....

1. High School is never over, it only ages

2. I am NOT the only person in the world who wants to have her own little person

3. It is almost just as fantastic for someone to buy you a round of drinks on here as it is in real life. Almost.

1) there are always going to be people you piss off and they are going to try and shoot you down.
2) that you will meet people you disagree with and hey that's fine it is the type of site it is, so many opinions they are going to clash.
and 3) that you can meet so many totally awesome people here and perhaps even one that could be just that perfect special someone in the world just right for you ;)
