i bought the easy brackets and a set of saddleman bags for my dyna. easy on, easy off. if you have a sissy bar you can attach your fork bag back there. hd makes a pouch to mount on the front tubes down by the voltage regulator, but it is a bit expensive.

You didn't say how much room you need, but you mentioned a a handlebar pouch. j&pcycles.com offers a bracket that will allow you to mount a windshield bag above your license plate. no drilling required, but it does require a lay down license plate bracket. you might also look into a fork bag, that mounts to the front forks just below the headlight. these are small bags that don't hold much, but would be good for small items. another option, if you have a sissy bar, would be a sissy bar bag. a little larger than the others, but still a lot smaller than saddlebags.

buy a set of removable bags, that way, when you need em, just put em on. Also, you can get a bag for the backside of your sissy bar, replace your tool pouch on the bars with a non leather type that won't mess with your chrome, wear clothes with lot's of pockets, get a back pak etc.. Saddle bags actually look good on a harley, gives it an old school look. I've owned 26 bikes over the last 41 years, the last 5 have all been harleys. I put bags on most of em, my newest bike is an '07 Ultra classic full dresser with bags and tour pak, fairing etc. I have more room to stow stuff then some small cars!! Yes, I gave up my bad boy image by going to a dresser, but I sure can travel in comfort. Besides, with the python pipes, stage 1 air kit, 18" apes and race tuner, I gained another 23 horsepower, brought it up to 91 ft pounds of torque and it sounds and runs like an old school bike while giving me the comfort for 1000 miles plus trips.

There are some very nice soft leather bags that look OK on a Dyna. The good thing is they are easily removed when you aren't planning a long trip!
Search the online custom chrome catalog there a ton of soft leather bags available!!! Good luck!
