Not a 5 mile hill but a very steep hill and had to go home for lunch and go back up again...and up another steep hill for Sunday School and church on Sunday...

no, but i did have to walk 1 1/2 miles home from school in the middle of a blizzard once. it was so bad i had to walk the whole way backwards.

Nope, only on the way home, tell you despite the snow numbing them those gravel roads were hard on the souls of my feet. Sure glad when I got to high school and got my first pair of shoes.

No, but my mom claims she had to walk 5 miles to school with a bag full of heavy books (with shoes) in rain or shine.

yep, and it was just the same on the way back. i never could figure out how they made that hill change directions in the middle of the day!!!
