My grandmother recently passed away. She has a solid oak trunk and a desk (both antique) at my aunt's house in Florida. These pieces are very special to me emotionally and could never be replaced. However I am a very poor graduate student! How can I best get them here (Tennessee) from there (Florida)?

We do not know the weight of these items but I know they are solid and will weigh a lot.

Waiting is not an option. If I don't get them now, I may never get them.

Thank you guys!!! :)

Get a Uhaul and pick them up yourself!

Cheapest way - least risk of damage

call northAmerican van lines - ask for High value product division and get a quote on shipping

Probably will run you about $1500.00

That's what I did last time

Next time - UHAUL!!!

I'm sorry for your loss. She obviously figured into your life. Have you concerned your siblings with your dilema? If not then I respect your choice-( I have selfish siblings too).Whats best is to make every try at being there and be directly involved with all descisions that ultimately have to be made by you.Sinse you have chosen to slide in -in a less way, you have chosen to be ridiculed by your siblings-God spare you! You still have an opportunity to regain some respect-handle the transfer with authority and diligence, and once you are in posession of all that you dilligently recorded, quickly divulge the possessions to those who wish to recieve these items based upon nothing more than what they were intended ,in there minds, to recieve. Reason has to have precidence here and if reason is transscribed-then so be it. Nothing or no one can be held hostage to an immoral view of justice. You have an indellible guarranty to life as you choose to pursue and nobody has right to interfear.

It might be spiritually charged. Or a demon could just being trying to deceive you. They are sneaky. Heard about this stuff on the John Todd tapes. He came out of the illuminati, renounced witchcraft, and became a Christian. He started teaching Christians about the symbols of witchcraft and demons before he was defamed and put in a jail. Then supposedly a helicopter picked him up and he was executed for speaking on the illuminati.o_O

Find a friend with a full-size pickup truck. Buy a tarp and some tie downs. Pay for you and the friend to drive to FL and back. You pay for the gas, hotel room and food.
