Don't worry, our PC gang will ban it all together soon, see they have succeeded to a degree already, you don't even refer to it as 'Christmas' !!!
Roll on Ramadan, a very merry Ramadan, and a happy new Ramadan to you !!!

It's here (Ireland) As well and i too think it's mad. We're getting a lot of things from our local large DIY store (Doing up house to move in) And just as i went looking for another pot of oil base paint (Where it was 2 days ago) I did a double turn because instead of paint all i could see were giant Santas, reindeers, snowmen and you name it!

I know people get all excited about Christmas and want to turn their gardens into grottos or what not but surely! November should be soon enough! Tesco's the same BTW. Our Tesco got Christmas toys and stockings already?

In my opinion it's all based on sell, sell, sell and takes away the true spirit of Christmas. I'd give big companies thumbs down for it if i could LOL

Hello Mikey,

The time I take notice that Christmas is not that far away is when I see fresh Brussel Spouts and Pickling Onions in the shops.

Thats when I look at and start getting things for the Christmas season.

But I do agree that the shops seem to get earlier and earlier with stocking up for this time of year.

Hot Cross buns will probably be in the stores as soon as Christams is over. But I can't understand why. They won't keep, until Easter unless frozen.

Too right, I hate all the Christmas stuff turning up immediately after summer. We even have Halloween before then but only a few shops seem to have noticed this and it's even too early for Halloween!

If I have to go into a shop with Christmas displays already up, the invisible blinkers go on to save my poor eyes from all the novelty rubbish. I like Christmas as much as the next person... 3 weeks max. from the actual date. Bah humbug!

Christmas decorations do clash terribly with fall colours! The chances are I won't be buying much if any decor until November unless it is some really good find at a charity shop.

Stores can sell Christmas decorations whenever they want. You don't have to buy any.

I have seen decorations in craft stores as early as July. Crafters needing them for their businesses and holiday bazaars need to get ready as soon as they can.

Some people like to shop early to avoid crowds. I can wait until November myself. I have a lot of stuff already, so I don't need any more decorations. I buy candles ahead of time, that's about it for me.

And, even though it's Sept. 26th, Christmas is now less than 90 days way. (89 to be exact). :)

i agree, and i saw Christmas stuff at wal-mart in JULY! i mean, come on people! we don't need half a year to buy Christmas decorations. i don't even really like to think about Christmas till after thanksgiving, after then i want to get in the spirit, not before. it's all become to commercialized anyways, people need to stop and think about the deeper meaning. not necessarily the religious aspect of it (although i am a Christian and celebrate the birth of Jesus, i realize that others don't), but the being with those you care about, and expressing your love to them, and for a little while, not having to worry about all the problems the world has.

I like it when they put it out early. Gives me more time to buy the stuff.
I have a phobia of large crowds, so shopping during December is a nightmare for me.

You've only JUST noticed!?!!? We've had christmas stuff in the local shops since the end of July!!!
It drives me nuts - I think no specific Christmas items should be on sale until 2 weeks before the 25th of December!
