I say shut'em down.
The PEOPLE run this Country.
It's just that the Elitist Snobs have been allowed to get away with it and that's why they do it.
If enough people shun them, they'll fade into nonexistence.
I notice some people refer to the issue as some kind of "free speech". . . How 'bout a little self-respect to go along with that free speech, eh?
that is harsh

I REALY THINK THAT THE UNIVERSITY HOST SHOULD BE FIRED I MEAN WHAT THE HELL?
ima american but i truely support president ahmad's speech and his courage to come here and let the world know the truth about many matters which our president have been hiding and now we understand fullly that all this time along Mr bush have been thrashing Iran for his mistakes in iraq ad afghanistan.
i also think he explained many things in a logical an informative way i enjoyed watching the speech and learned quite some things from it. Even though many Bush minded idiots did not apreciate it, and think of him as what Bush always says about him which is bull, the others were grateful to hear the other side of the story.
I think bollinger is a coward cause he is in his town and he have the advantage if he was in iran or elsewhere neutral he wouldnt have the guts to say such things, but regardless of the cowardity, i feel that is Very Rude and inappropriate but ahmad dealt it well despite the preasure
Mr bush is a complete retard i hope nobody believes what he says, especially his stories about "nuclular" and "terrorist" bullcrap

I don't go along with fines. That's not the government's role. I believe in letting the capitalistic market take care of such things. That's not to say, the spotlight shouldn't be shone on their liberal. But once it is made public and parents stop sending their kids to schools and alumni withhold their grant money from colleges with particularly egregious displays of liberalism, the faculty will be forced to be more balanced.
BTW, There are rumors coming out of the Middle East that some Muslims are calling for a Fatwa against Bollinger. That kinda trumps a fine.

I DO have to agree with other's comments regarding YOUR writing skills, BUT...
I DO think that some of these schools SHOULD have FEDERAL funding restrictions placed on them since, Columbia is a fine example, they prohibit ROTC units and even Military recruiters.
I don't think that Columbia should be fined, punished or whatever for having the Iranian President there to speak. He put his foot SO deep in his mouth with his "no gays in Iran" statement, it MIGHT have actually made the liberals realize he IS a pathalogical liar.
I DO agree that MOST of our public schools from elementary to the State and Private University's have a STRONG liberal-leftist bias. It's been that way since the 1920's and just gets stronger.
I worked as a junior high teacher for two years after leaving the US Navy, and was literally driven out by the local union of the NEA-AFT because I'm to the right of center, and ONE day arrived at work from a weekend Reserve job in my uniform (I changed into civies before teaching).

Well, I wish that the neoconservative government could control everything we watched, listened to and read, but that's facist, so I see what kind of government you favor.
I'm glad Columbia had Ahmadinejhad do a lecture. I believe that everyone deserves to be listened to. After all, freedom of speech is the backbone of a DEMOCRACY, right?
Rush Limbaugh, eh. How long was he sober, or does he only pop pills off air?

I disagree with everything Iran and its president stand for. But I defend Columbia University's right to have him speak. The President of the school was correct when he said "It's all about free speech." And when you tell people who they can and cannot listen to, that's an abridgement of free speech. It just amazes me how many people in this country claim to be patriotic Americans, yet want to destroy the very Constitution and Bill of Rights that made this country what it is - a nation of freedom.

Just because a school values freedom of speech and believes in educating its students, does not make it a "liberal school".
What is it about education that Republicans hate so much?
