There is only a certain type of American would think that, just as there is on;y a certain type of Brit who thinks like a chimpanzee.
I go to America often and it is one of my lifes great pleasures to be treated so nicely and politely by people there.

Europeans, and specifically the men, have a different set (actually sets) of social norms. Actions or behaviors that are associated as male or female in American norms are not associated the same way in European norms, this causes a mis-perception. Basically it's about as silly as saying "pink" is a girl color and assuming that a male is gay if they wear pink.

I feel quite sympathy with what you said. We need to be attentive not to act false like considering slightly different activity pattern of quite few persons as generalized common one. Even in that case, we need to be attentive not to disregard slightly different activity pattern of quite few persons. Vice versa. So it is better for us to stay in comfort if we can comprehend that kinds of not that negative situation, I think.
