First, one would have to ask what source this person had that provided him/her with needles infected with aids. I don't think there is a free "get your needles infected with aids clinic" anywhere in the U.S.. Perhaps it's a conspiracy by doctors or nurses that draw blood from aids patients all over the U.S. and do this at night for fun but it seems unlikely to me.
Then of course there is the fact that oxygen kills the HIV virus rather quickly so unless it is sealed and you open the air tight plastic and stick yourself it is unlikely. This is why HIV is spread through blood and sexual fluid contact only.
The website below will help you with Urban Legends.

No, unfortunately its not a legend. There were a number of AIDS infected psychos roaming the streets trying to infect others. They are angered and seeking for revenge in public. It is happening in many nations across the globe and that is why AIDS victims are growing rapidly every day. I was watching the evening news a month ago and authorities are asking these victims to come forward and turn themselves in.
Go to the doctors quickly and have a blood test done immediately, I'd rather be safe than sorry. You may think that I'm trying to scare you but hey its your call.

I don't think that story is true but I would be careful of parks and playgrounds because people are putting razors in the sand and grass. That story I know is true cause there are documented police reports about such things happening in toronto and california.

A quick look at snoops.com shows this to most likely be an urban legend. It would not be bad to see a doctor as it may have been a sharp piece of metal etc...

I would dare to say that it's real because people are just cruel. Kids are throwing boulders off of Highway over passes and I wouldn't doubt it that someone would be twisted enough to plant needles. Sorry Sweetheart!

I haven't even HEARD of this "urban legend" until now... based on the responses - I see that it's just a legend / hoax & there's been no proof of this happening.

I doubt it's true.
Even if people were doing this, the chances of actually contracting AIDS in this way are virtually zero.
