I have found these effective.....
1)put it next to my daughter's stereo *only in extreme cases though, it'll have issues after thirty minutes*
2)put it in the freezer behind the peas
3)put it on the bottom of the kitty litter box
4)put it behind the front weel of your car, get in and start the engine....that'll scare it and it'll answer *only do this once, because any more than that and it'll figure out you're bluffing.*
5)threaten to get one of those 20q thingies...it's jealous of those.

Show the ball its only other career option if it continues to fail as a soothsayer. Go to a sleazy bar and rack it up on the pool table. One good break shot should be enough to set it straight.
