I have been searching high and low for the perfect red shadow also. I don't know why. I barely wear it. But it's so pretty. Well... I got one from Make Up For Ever, it's a matte red.

That brand also carries a nice red iridescent shimmer powder called Star Powder but sadly it's not sold in the US I think.
If not try Hot Topic. They have the Bloody Mary Rebel shadow in red even though it's not online. You'd think a Goth store should carry a nice bright red shadow.

MAC carries a cream based eye shadow called Premeditated. It is long lasting and is a nice shade of red. The shadow is $16.

Try scoping out Hot Topic, they have a variety of red eyeshadows. I bought mine from there, and it's like for stage makeup, so a little goes a looooongg way and it lasts all day. And it's a really good price for what I think is good quality. (7 bucks or under) But they have a variety, they have a red pigment kind which is like red eyeshadow loose powder, which you use a brush to put on, or just a regular eyeshadow.
For example:
http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028574&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441941204&bmUID=1190832143525 (But not in pink, instead red obviously)

I would try Walgreens or Rite Aid. I would look for L'Oreal HIP line. (HIP=High Intensity Pigments) You might also have luck at Wal-mart or Target. I think it's the brand more than the store.
