The facts of the case are this, after his testimony, it was found out he was never in the service. He was a poster child for Moveon, Iran and Al Qaeda for a while. But then it was found out he was never in the service. He was convicted under "Operation Stolen Valor".

Should he have gotten off scott free or should his punishment have been more severe?

Treason is what he should have been found guilty of. He purposely lied about our troops to cause them harm. That is treason.

I know people out there will say "Bush lied, soldiers died". But remember this. President Bush gave 10 reasons why we went to war. So far 9 of them have been proved correct. One, WMD, has yet to be proven. Even though President Clinton had proof of them, apparently he wasn't lying?

By the way, President Bush said we had evidence, we just weren't allowed to do proper monitoring. Saddam was playing a cat and mouse game. The cat caught him and now he is dead. He should have allowed the UN inspectors proper access. It wasn't that he had WMD when we attacked. It was we knew he had them before (he used them) and he was supposed to show proof he no longer had them.

But I digress. MacBeth belongs in jail for a long time. Unless he is sick in the head. In that case, he belongs in a mental institution for a long time.

He clearly did not testify to Congress or any court of law
this man is just deranged... if you read the article and look him up you can dee that. Can't see what MoveOn article you're talking about, either

if you want to see a real veteran general speak about his experience in Iraq, this is General Eaton, a man who is considered "father of the new Iraqi army"

It doesn't surprise me that the anti-war groups latched onto this guy and believed his stories without even bothering to do research. Even our own members of congress call our troops murderers, so why wouldn't anti-war, anti-military groups believe this delusional man?

This is a tactic used by the anti-war movement for years. He should definitely go to jail.
