I did things that I would have never done sober that caused me to "live and learn". They weren't always necessarily bad things but not really good things either. I got to experience life in a different way during that time and I am actually kinda grateful for that. I'm over that whole stage in life though...lol

I did get some insight about myself, when I was on Percodan for 6 years after a motorcycle accident. That was the mid 70's, and drugs were all around. Pot, it was a way to escape boredom and a pain killer for me. So for me drugs were something that were always there and if used correctly It blunted extreme pain, If abused they just screwed up a day.

I remember being stoned when I watched pink floyd " the wall" at a local theater and saw it again straight. I understood it better when I was stoned ( weed that is). I wouldn't say it permanently messed me up. Those party days are from another life time ago... I'm just fine!!

Brain damage never expands and those acid flashbacks are a bi*ch (girl I had working with me was a total spacer and lost her train of thought constantly and would just zone out and "come to" not any wiser )

I once realized the meaning of life..... but when I sobered up I totally forgot it. When I thought about just how crazy that sounded, I didn't do it again.

I think drugs have (and continue) to make me a better person. I wash my hands a million times an hour and I listen to a lot better music than I used to when I was boring.
