Um, so far the others have talked about WWII - Germany did under go a revolution in WWI - the Kaiser abdicated the throne and a new government was set up. Because of war attrition, the British blocade and fresh soldiers from America arriving every day, the general population was fed up eating turnips (true) and the internal pressure was strong - the Kaiser gave up the throne to avoid a bloody revolution, instead the overthrow was relatively calm. The new government sued for peace.

An attempt was made on Hitler's life, by his own men, but he was saved by the chance location of a table leg. The explosion missed the fuhrer.

i wouldn't say a revolution by the common folk but a military coup. the military tried to assassinate hitler by blowing him up but the guys involved were caught and killed, so the rest had to lay low before trying again but the war ended before they could try it again
