You've seen the commercial for this thing......claiming that you can get the internet pretty much anywhere. I've got 2 questions:

1) Does anyone know how good this thing works?
2) Do I still need to live in an area that can receive the signal?

Thanks......

One more question.....

Do you need to sign a contract and pay a monthly fee or is it just the one-time payment for the card itsefl?

My only experience with these types of cards is with Sprint, and I do know that they are highly reliable, and also that their service is widely available.

The card can usually be gotten for free, but yes, it is a monthly service.

Hi Primo,

I don't have AT&T but I have sprint and it works everywhere I go. I haven't had any bad experiences with the card.

The card I have it was already build-in in my laptop but you can also purchase the card.
and yes there is a contract for a year or without contract it cost a little more....

AT&T's network isn't the fastest out there, but it's pretty good. You will get 200-300kbps anywhere your Cingular phone works.

I've got one for work, and have travelled a decent amount. I have had very few issues with connectivity.
