Well, Juan "The Dandy Dominican" Marichal clubbed Dodger catcher John Roseboro over the head with a bat. This was not so much a brawl as it was a hellacious incident. Roseboro was not critically injured. Marichal was suspended for only ten days or ten games; such was the punishment back in 1965.
Expect to see some Yankees/RedSox stories here, with the likes of Piniella, RJax, Fisk, from the '70s.

Ventura/Ryan wasn't really a brawl as opposed to a beat down.
The best Red Sox Yankee brawl of my lifetime was in--I think--1976 and involved, first Pinella and Fisk at the plate, then expanded to include Mickey Rivers and Bill Lee among others. The great Spaceman Lee (perenial 17 game winner and courageous pro-marijauna advocate) was unfortunately seriously injured in that altercation and had his career damaged as a result.
Don "The Gerbil' Zimmer was the rolly-polly coach who charged Pedro during the 2003 Yankees/Red Sox brawl. Yankee fans tried to call Pedro a bullie, but he just stepped out of the way. Zimmer, who had been carrying a 75 pound beer belly for over three decades, had terrible balance and when the object he was thrusting himself towards (Pedro) moved out of the way, he tumbled over.
Most baseball brawls are kind of tame. The one or two heated combatants usually get buried under a pile and the rest of the players mill around laughing and joking with old buddies from the other side.

OlympicLift is right. It was game 3 of the 2003 ALCS. Pedro knocked down former Red Sox manager and then Yankee bench coach Don Zimmer. There were many other combatants including two Yankee pitchers who were indicted for beating up the Fenway Park bullpen attendant. They later got off or had to pay a fine.
The fight between the Rangers bullpen and the fans in Oakland Coliseum in 2004 was a good one also.

Which is that one where the guy turns around and side kicks the catcher then hits the pitcher with the bat? That was pretty awesome. I remember this one when I was a kid, I think it was Ray Knight Vs. Eric Davis, Eric Davis slid into third base really hard and Ray Knight had a problem with it and Davis stood up and said something to him but I don't think he knew Ray Knight was a actually an amateur boxer in the Golden Gloves and he hit hit Davis with this sweet little double jab straight right combo and then all hell broke loose.

I would have to second the Robin Ventura and Nolan Ryan head locking and punching! Especially afterwords there was a Tylenol commercial with that clip that I only saw air a few times here in Texas.

hahaha ...the best has to be when Pedro Martinez got into that scuffle with the Yankees player, and then when the Yankees Coach came out, Pedro dodged his charge and then grabbed his head and flung the old man to the ground. I'm sorry i don't remember the name of the other guys but it was downright hilarious.

The one where Nolan Ryan got the other guy in a headlock and starting pounding on him, that was classic.

For entertainment purposes, it gets no better than Don Zimmer v. Pedro Martinez.
