My wife, my 2 year-old son and I want to celebrate Christmas preferably out of Germantown, MD. We wait until midnight to wish a good holiday and open gifts but I can't find theme parks or restaurants open that late even in NYC on the 24th or 25th. Disney is not affordable for now. Any suggestions?

I think you might like St. Augustine Florida. During Christmas they have a ton of events going on. The city is pretty the whole town is lit up in white lights. Old town is just amazing and they have several people walking around in costumes from back in the day. They have carolers, and actors walking around it really is cool for all ages! The old fort also comes alive at Christmas they shoot off cannons and all lkinds of things! There are several nice places to stay in the St. Augustine area in all price ranges, and well the beach at Christmas is just cool. We go there every year and really enjoy it. They also do fireworks and all kinds of other things. Take a river cruise showing off the lights, that is always very cool! I would check out this website for more:

They also have the Christmas parade which is very cool and again enjoyable for all ages! There is a ton of stuff to do here and really neat way to spend the holidays you might want to check it out more! I hope this helps!

You should check out the Great Escape Lodge and Water park in Lake George, NY. It is about 3 to 4 hours from NYC. Check out the website.
