Would you be most tolerant of?Let's face it, a lot of the country is going to be pissed come next election.Fact is,we all have to live with it.So,if you are a dem, which repub would you feel the least animosity for?If your a repub, which dem would you most be able to tolerate?Reality dictates this will be the case for some of us.I'm not shy,I'll start.I'm republican(maybe I'm independent now)But historically,I have been republican.I don't think Hillary is a monster.I can't say I like her.But I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and my support should she get elected.Anyone else?Or is this only a forum where you must hate everyone else?

I will loudly declare myself independent, but only because the Democrats are incompetent campaigners.

I like Biden, Obama, Clinton, then Edwards on the Democratic side, but I have put a lot of thought into whether I would be willing to vote for a Republican if Hillary won the nomination. (Unlike most Hillary haters, I feel like I have a valid reason not to trust her --- I don't like the relationship between BIll and China and frankly I expect that to continue in a Hillary Presidency. Our relationship with China is a huge financial issue that needs to be addressed, IMO. No single foreign country should have that much pull on our economy. That said even though I am 35, I am a huge proponent of a national health care plan for kids and students. Hillary rejoining the fight has me once again leaning towards voting Democrat.)

Of the republicans, I wouldn't vote for Guliani. He has 9/11 Tourettes. He will use 9/11 to justify anything and I can't go with that. He is pro-choice but would appoint a pro-life justice? WTF? That sums him up well. He is a man who has principles, he just doesn't follow any of them. Additionally, I am not impressed with his work as a mayor. Him encouraging New Yorkers to return to their homes before a proper chemical cleanup was done has cost a number of New Yorkers their health and their lives. That lack of diligence will cost him the election vs. any Dem. If I wanted another Bush, I'd vote for Jeb.

Fred Thompson - Ah, the Neo Con's rubber stamp candidate. I won't vote for anyone who thinks he owns the nomination without campaigning. It reveals a lack of work ethic and a lack of respect for your constituency. Additionally, the fact that his he chose to be the Neo-con face in this campaign knowing full well that his candidacy would cripple his friend McCain's (who Thompson had already endorsed!!!) certainly suggests he is an opportunist with little honor. I have to laugh that he is the Neo-con's choice instead of the despised McCain as they reportedly had identical voting records. McCain without the honor and work ethic. Call him McCain-lite. Still, it warms my heart that the Neo-Cons have gone down this dead end. It amuses me to no end to hear them begging this guy to campaign when he is out in public instead of sneaking off to have a snack. See you guys in 2012.

Mitt Romney. The most obnoxious incidence of a Democrat in Republican clothing. This is the kind of Republican candidate I'd be. Steven Colbert of the primaries. He clearly IDed everything that the Republican base wants to to hear and is now bombarding them with an endless stream of commercials that says those values are what he is about. That said, he has one of the better resumes of any Democratic candidates. He has a great financial mind and is very practical. I think he would be great at the job. I think his presidency would be practically identical to Hillary's (Controlled spending, balanced budget, national health care, end of Iraq War, etc.), except China would be treated properly and Fox news would give more time to OJ.

John McCain. I often disagree with his politics (Iraq, immegration reform) but I trust his principles and respect his service. I have no doubt he would bring a successful and timely end to the Iraq war and there would be no partisan gridlock with McCain. The government would work again. I would vote for him over anyone but Biden.

Newt Gingrich. Like edwards, I often like the message, but have a general distate for the messenger. I do not consider him a true man of principle and probably could not vote for him.

Tom Tancredo - I like this guy. I'd vote for him over Hillary and possibly over Obama. He gets immigration.

Mike Huckabee - I really like this guy. He is the rare proudly religious candidate who doesn't offend me. He isn't pompus and doesn't seem to believe his religion makes him better than anyone else. He gets the moral principles that guide his faith and uses those to direct the decisions he makes in his life. He can work with Democrats and is a sound financial conservative even though he often isn't presented that way. He is the kind of guy who doesn't cut taxes when roads are needed, but won't raise taxes to fund frivilous projects. Unlike most of the Republican candidates he has some depth. I'd vote for him over anyone but Biden.

Ron Paul seems like the GOP candidate with the most integrity, so I'd vote for him even though I think he's extreme in some of his positions. At least he has a political philosophy that can be articulated; most of the other candidates seem too eager to twist themselves around to get elected.

Ron Paul is strange and Hillary simply scares me.

If forced, Obama would get my nod before Edwards and the rest of the Dem field.

Really like Lieberman . Too bad he's not involved.

Actually Mitt Romney seems to be okay. I wouldn't vote for him but he seems less crazy or less likely to wage a campaign of name calling and personal attacks and actually talk issues than the others. Ron Paul is just a nut and I don't even consider him a Republican.

Delta Airlines could have to have Pigs flying Non stop airservice; Hell, could have a NHL team, & I still wouldn't vote for Mrs.Clinton.....

As a Fred Thompson fan is there a Dem I could live with???? Richardson, but that is a stretch..... The rest suck. Obama is a pure Lib & the more he take positions the worse he sounds. Edwards is Ambalance chaser Who Did nothing as a Senator. Dodd, Biden, et all are Party hacks.

I agree that Hillary is PROBABLY not the monster some make her out to be. Her record has been more to the center than others in the Democratic field.
Biden is OK, too. I guess.

McCain is the only top tier republican candidate that has my full respect as a person and a politician. To me he seems willing to work on the issues and avoid partisan rhetoric.

Interesting question...

If I had to accept someone from another party, I think I'd prefer to see Obama over any of the other candidates. If he were elected, I could graciously accept it. If Clinton were elected, well, I'd sleep with one eye open for the remainder of her Presidency, and fear for the welfare of the country. I could live with Lieberman, too.
