That's humor like one liners laced with a touch of sarcasm or puns( which some call groaners), as opposed to someone who is an outright boisterious riot, using slapstick comedy moves to make it funnier. Dry humor is the kind where you wonder if the person was intending to be funny & sarcasm is in it.

They don't laugh at their own jokes...they keep a straight face...somber...sarcastically intellectual...deadpan...
Their sense of humor is designed more to "impress" with their wit, rather than cause an audience to bellow with laughter...
I'm the opposite...I want to get the audience roaring with robust enthusiasm, and I laugh at my own jokes...and myself...I'm not an "elitist" kinda' guy...but a person with a "dry" sense of humor is a person who's just as funny...but it's more "subtle..." Kinda like...
"Spare me you silly remarks, Major!"
"I've had quite enough of your antics, today...now go fetch me my newspaper, and make yourself useful..."

a person with a 'dry' sense of humour is someone that is very sarcastic, with lots of self awareness and knowledge in current affairs. Some one that is very observant, and negative at the same time, and can project that into humour.
