Does anyone know of any charities or churches or online groups that sponsor families with young children with christmas gifts? I am really hurting this year and I have 3 children who deserve a nice holiday. My soon to be ex husband left us in Feb and we are yet to recieve childsupport although i do recieve food stamps. I work full time and I'm barely getting bills paid. Im so embarrassed to even ask but if anyone can give me any ideas or charities to contact I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Try your local Salvation Army. They are a terrific organization that helps families in need. Also try any local churches in your area. You'll have to make some phone calls but it'll be worth it to you. Good luck!!

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I DID NOT NO ANY OF THE OTHER PLACES 2 LOOK 4 CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE. I DID SIGN UP 4 TOYS FOR TOTS THEY TOLD ME I WILL RECEIVE ONE GIFT AND HAT AND GLOVES FOR MY DAUGHTER. IF ANY ONE KNOWS OF ANY OTHER PLACES THAT CAN HELP ME WITH CHRISTMAS PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL. I NEED ALL THE ASSISTANCE I CAN GET. MY DAUGHTER DID NOT HAVE A REAL CHRISTMAS LAST YEAR. I AM UNEMPLOYED AND HOMELESS WITH A 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. EVERYDAY WHEN MY DAUGHTER GO'S TO SCHOOL I LOOK 4 A JOB. NOTHING HAS COME MY WAY YET. I ALWAYS SAY THAT GOD DOES EVERYTHING 4 A REASON BUT WHAT THAT REASON IS WE DON'T NO BUT IT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU STRONGER IN THE END. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH STRONGER I HAVE TO BE I REALLY DON'T KNOW. LAST CHRISTMAS THE ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS CRY MY EYES OUT. I DID NOT EVEN GET TO SEE MY DAUGHTER I LET HER GO WITH HER DAD FOR CHRISTMAS. I SAID TO MYSELF LAST YEAR THAT NO MATTER WHAT MY DAUGHTERS GOING TO SPEND CHRISTMAS WITH ME. IF I DID NOT HAVE A HOME THEN I WAS GOING TO GET US A HOTEL ROOM. THAT WAY WE COULD BE TOGETHER FOR CHRISTMAS I CAN SEE ALREADY THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. IF ANY ONE HAS ANY OTHER INFO PLEASE EMAIL ME. I REALLY DO NEED HELP. call your local Fire and Police Departments, let your pastor know, if you attend a church...The local Chapter of Moose and Elks usually have some type of Charity going on, also notify the Toys for Tots chapter....someone will be able to help, with food and presents for the kids. The local Lions club may also help.

Don't be embarrassed. People help because it feels good. When you are on your feet, return the favor by helping others.
Contact your local Christian Ministries, Salvation Army or your church.
I have had help and have helped. You have to humble yourself to receive. It is hard, but you will be more sympathetic towards others. When you return the favor you will get your reward. It is so wonderful to help others and lift their burden. It's a drug like no other!!!
I am praying for you and your family. You will be fine. This is just a little "speed bump" :)

I'm a Former US Marine and I know that the Marine Corps Reserve sponsors Toys for Tots every year. Speak to a recruiter or representative of the Corps for info. God Bless You!

Kathleen took my suggestion! ;o) Salvation Army is a great place to check out. I've spend a few Christmas seasons working in one of their toy drive warehouses. They get LOTS of toys for all ages and parents who call in for help can give their kids' ages and genders and they'll put a package together for you. You'll still have to wrap everything yourself, but it's all in good condition. If you can't afford the wrapping paper, the malls have kiosks throughout December where they'll wrap gifts for a small charitable donation.

EDIT: By the way, I forgot to say that everyone who qualifies for assistance through SA will GET assistance. Sounds to me like you will qualify especially since you're getting food stamps. Please call them. I know it's embarrassing but they're there to help!!
