The gauge is just measuring oil pressure, not the level of oil. The first thing you need to do is check your dipstick to see how much oil is in the engine. If it's low add enough oil to make it come up to the proper mark, then drive over to the dealer, not Jiffy lube, and have them check it out.

I'd tell you to get on your hands and knees to look under the car after you add the oil, but the mercedes engine is shrouded from underneath and you wouldn't see anything unless you removed it first.

It could be they didn't tighten the oil plug properly.
The plug used on the 2000 c230 was fairly soft and prone to cross threading. The white smoke may mean that some moisture got into the oil when they did the change. Did they top off your radiator or washer fluid? Some of it may have found its way into your engine.

I would say who ever did your oil change yesterday probably.

1. Didn't replace the oil cap properly on the valve cover and causing oil to come out and on to the hot engine. Thus creating the white smoke as the oil burns off. (Or they may have spilled some oil accidentally when they were working on your engine)
2. You've lost enough oil that the oil light has come on. (You're now low on oil, add oil until your dipstick says it's got the proper amount) Do not drive the car until you are sure you have a proper amount of oil in the car or you may damage bearings.

Somethings gone horribly wrong.

Take it back to the shop right away.

Buy an extra couple of quarts of oil before you leave for the shop. Keep a close eye on the gauge in case you have to add some on the way there.

This is possibly serious enough that you could blow your engine.
