What does it say about our country when someone like Mahmoud Ahmadinezhad goes to a college as a "distinguished" speaker, and the kids have no problem with his "Death To America" slogens, no problem with him killing our brave troops by proxy, and no problem with him trying to obtain nukes; but they DO have a problem when he says something about HOMOSEXUALS ?
Good God almighty: Are kids really that screwed up in the head? Have the ex-hippies from the 60's who run today's Universities really twisted up our kids' minds that badly?

you are 100% correct!!!!!
It's nice to hear somebody talking sense around here.
He calls for the anihilation of Israel, death to America (the Great Satan), and he's trying to get the bomb. Nobody seems to mind about those things, but if he says something about gays... everybody freaks out.
People are so detached from reality that they don't understand the threat Iran poses to the world; however, they'll stand up for gay rights. What a bunch of loons.

i know what you mean. i don't know what made people think that inviting him to come and speak at a college was a good idea. They tried to turn around the public opinion of the whole thing by "grilling him" but how much of an impact do they really think they have on him since they aren't world leaders? I was so confused when i heard that he was invited to speak in the U.S at all it was like some messed up joke. I mean give me a break he wants to kill us and wipe out the Isrealites as well. The people involved with giving this the okay clearly need major help with their decision making skills to say the least.

yet again thanks for being a rational voice among the seemingly endless opinions out there. :)

In case you haven't heard on the news lately there was a huge problem with him speaking. The president of the college said some very rude things about him & a lot of the students had some rude things to say about him aswell.

A good many adolescents tend to think with the crotch instead of the brain, that's why Ahmadinejad got such a reaction.
Issues such as the Holocaust, Monotheism, women's rights, etc. require more cerebral effort; nevertheless, he did get quite a bit of flack about them too.
I enjoyed listening to his delusions and lies, but I don't think it was a good idea to have him speak at Columbia. It actually gives credibility to his crazy ideas. Imagine how this video will be cut, modified, and presented on Iranian TV.

I fear that your final comments have hit the target squarely. We have lost control of the institutions which shape our future in America to a large extent. I think we are screwed if the libs succeed in electing one of their own to the white house in 2008.
Wake up, America, before it is too late!
