Now that it has been decided by the fans that Barroids ball will be branded with the *, do you think Ecko should require the HOF to display the ball with the * visible? The location of the * is being negotiated.

Require them to display the * before he gives it to them... The HOF might try to display it without the * showing. I wouldn't put it past them....

The real baseball fan would never agree to disgrace the game of baseball with such an immature act as this. I am not a Bonds fan at all but I am a baseball fan and this is a black eye for baseball and I am finding it hard to believe that so many people, not fans, can't see beyond this publicity stunt. That ball represents an accomplishment and it should be properly displayed in the HOF. Everyone should have the opportunity to make up their own minds about Bonds without an asterisk being forced on us. I really believe the HOF should reconsider accepting the ball. The HOF is there to honor past accomplishments and promote the game and not tear it down as the result of actions of a few misguided people.

I honestly do not care what becomes of the ball -- it is just an artifact -- but defacing it seems inappropriate, catering to the whim and fashion of the moment, and the whim and fashion of a mob of sourpuss twits at that.
