Oh, are we answering you homework question?
Fair trade, what a crock.
Inbalance of trade will always exist so far as one country produces cheap goods that undersell the competition.
Trade barriers helped prevent the spread of weeds, insects and other environmental controls that protected native agriculture. Sanctions on certain countries prevented the spread of diseases that came along with the shipment.
Frankly, I want the government imposing health laws on food products and medicines made in other countries, especially those that openly produce fake medicines, grow contaminated produce and want to sell it here, and I want my toys recalled if they are made with lead, arsenic, toxins, etc. I don't want to drive a lemon of a car made in certain countries that don't do safety tests.
I am not anti-globalization. I am anti false advertising, anti fake products, anti products made with toxins, anti destruction of the earth for the sake of a few rocks, anti cutting off the foot of an elephant to make a wastebasket, and anti stupidity.
That's real life, not a test answer.
