Rent a car, go around, drink a lot of water, sleep well, don't drive too fast as many arizonian do.

You can do it alone unless you hike over 10miles or some remote area( Montain lion may be waiting).
Have fun, best part of AZ is national parks.

Lot's of things to do in AZ - major sporting events, lots of mountains and deserts to explore - Check out Payson (mountain resort area) and Flagstaff.

Significant other...?
